SPEECH AI

One-Stop, AI-Driven Speech Therapy & Neurodevelopmental Care

Open here. Stepping is building Speech AI — one platform that carries a child from screening to therapy to progress tracking.

Background..

stepping

Section break. We start with the background: who these children are, and what the situation in Bangladesh looks like today.

Background..

Communication disorders

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Attention-Deficit / ADHD
Down Syndrome
Cerebral Palsy (CP)
Apraxia of speech
Dysarthria
Aphasia
Hearing & auditory disorders
stepping

These are the conditions Speech AI is built for. Autism and ADHD are the largest groups, but the same platform serves every one of these.

Background..

Scenario (BD)

Insufficient service

Around 1 crore special children in Bangladesh, but 75% of them have no access to services.

Late diagnosis

95% of the rural population is unaware of developmental disorders and disabilities.

Lack of professionals

Available therapists: 2,000 for 10 million children in need, but 250,000 are required to provide adequate care.

Lifelong impact

Unemployment, care costs, and lost talent drain families and national growth.

stepping

Four numbers define the gap in Bangladesh: 75% have no access, 95% of rural families are unaware, there are 2,000 therapists where 250,000 are needed — and the cost compounds across a lifetime.

Background..

Education gap

Disabled Children (aged 5–17)
20%
80% not in education
in education
Academic Enrollment
Primary
35%
Secondary
20%
7 in 10 are out of school
2 in education 1 out of school, other reasons 7 out of school, disability-related
stepping

Only one in five disabled children aged 5 to 17 is in education. Of every ten, two are in school and one is out for reasons unrelated to disability — leaving seven out of school because of it. Enrolment collapses further from primary to secondary, 35% to 20%.

Problems..

stepping

Section break. Now the problems — for parents, for therapy centres, and for the child.

Problems..

Parents’ Burden

1% time of a week spent with a therapist.
1–2 hrs with a therapist 166 hrs at home, unmanaged
Professional therapist far from home
Diagnosis can take months
Therapy is costly
Lack of parents guidance
stepping

A child gets one or two hours a week with a therapist. The other 166 hours happen at home, with no guidance. That is the gap the platform closes.

A crowded assessment camp where therapists fill in paper forms
Problems..

Therapy Center’s Burden

Huge manual paperwork burden
No standard clinical protocol
No objective progress tracking
Not enough trained therapists
Manual assessments & reports
No digital patient records
stepping

Centres run on paper. No shared protocol, no digital record, no objective way to show a child is improving.

Problems..

Child's Suffering

Two children start at the same point. Only one of them is caught in time.
Peer development
Without early support
STAGE 1 · DETECT
Early intervention Missed, caught too late
Assessment & screening Poor or unavailable
STAGE 2 · TREATMENT
Therapy plan No clear guideline
Trained support Lack of training
STAGE 3 · THRIVE
Development Falls behind peers
Mainstream life Cannot integrate
stepping

Two lines leave the same point. One is a child who gets support; the other is a child who does not. Every stage we fail widens the gap, and by school age it cannot be closed.

Problems..

Service gap

Map of Bangladesh: districts with specialist care shaded dark, the rest pale
specialist care nearby almost none
99% of children in rural areas are not getting any service
85% of autistic youth are outside mainstream school
Lack of therapists
No digital platform
High cost of care
No national database
stepping

Dark districts are the ones with specialist care within reach. Everything pale is a family that would have to travel for a diagnosis.

Problems..

Industry problem

Parents Clinic Therapist
One child, three actors — and not one link between them carries information.
01 Everything manual Notes on paper, nothing measured or tracked
02 No feedback loop Nobody sees what happened between sessions
03 No shared data Each side keeps its own partial record of the child
04 Confusing guidance Parents hear different advice from every source
stepping

Parents, clinic and therapist all work on the same child, and not one of the links between them carries information. These four failures are what the broken links produce.

Solutions..

Platforms (AI Based)

APP For parents & children at home
THERAPY CENTRE For clinicians & therapy centres
HOW TO SOLVE AI screening & guided home therapy
HOW TO WORK Daily exercises, progress, AI guidance
VIRTUAL SESSIONS Parents run therapy at home, guided live by a professional
HOW TO SOLVE Digital assessment & auto reports
HOW TO WORK Standard protocols, shared records
FLAGSHIP ROOMS Cameras and microphones score every session for AI screening
stepping

Two products, one system. The app puts screening and daily therapy in the parent's hands, with a professional joining live. The flagship centre is a room fitted with cameras and microphones so the AI can score a session objectively.

Solution for Parents

Guided therapy plan
Daily home practice
Live session with a therapist
Progress you can see
Plan adjusts each cycle
stepping

The parent journey: a worry becomes a screening they can run themselves, then a plan they can actually follow, with a professional joining live and progress they can see. It never ends — each cycle retunes the plan.

Solutions..

Solution for Therapy Center

THE LOOP A CENTRE RUNS
A therapy room set up for play-based assessment
THE SESSION
Digital intake
Standard assessment
Room captures the session
AI scores the activity
Report writes itself
Protocol-led plan
Shared patient record
Outcomes benchmarked
stepping

The centre workflow: digital intake, a standard assessment every therapist runs the same way, a session the room scores objectively, and a report written for you — then the next cycle starts from real data.

Outcomes..

stepping

Section break. What this produces — for the child, for families, and for the country.

Outcomes..

Platform generates

Independence Rehabilitation that ends in a young adult who earns — a dependant becomes a contributor to GDP
A new market A domestic care economy — centres, therapists, trainers and tools that did not exist before
National data The country's first structured record of autism and neurodevelopmental care
SDG progress Measurable movement on Goals 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 17
stepping

Four returns from one platform: children rehabilitated to independence and earning, a new domestic care market, the country's first structured developmental dataset, and measurable progress against the SDGs.

Outcomes..

Impact

What changes for every child
Early assessment Screening starts at home, years before a clinic would have caught it
Therapy at home Parents run guided sessions between visits, with the therapist watching the record
Coverage up to rural A family four hours from the nearest therapist gets the same programme
No more paperwork Notes, reports and progress records are generated, not written
stepping

Four measurable shifts, read clockwise: assessment happens earlier, therapy and parent guidance move into the home, care reaches families with no clinic nearby, and paperwork all but disappears.

Outcomes..

stepping

Six of the seventeen Global Goals are served directly: health, education, decent work, innovation, equality and partnership.

The other
166 hours.

A therapist gets one. The week keeps the rest — and that is where a child actually grows.

The digital infrastructure for speech & developmental care in Bangladesh, built to scale globally.

1 crore children in need
2,000 therapists today
6 of 17 SDGs addressed
Let’s build it together..
stepping

Close here. This is not a product pitch. It is a record layer for developmental care — one file per child that follows them from screening to school. Ask for the partnership.
